FAA REQUIREMENTS

  1. Obtain an FAA third class medical certificate
  2. Pass an FAA written exam
  3. Obtain 150 hour flight time, to include 100 hours of pilot in command
  4. Pass an FAA oral and flight test

COURSE INCLUDES

  1. 80 hours dual instruction
  2. 10 hours solo flight*
  3. 10 hours professional ground instruction
  4. 16 hours pre/post flight briefings
    Total Cost: $32,300 ( *More hours required if pilot has under 150 hours total time)

COMMERCIAL ADD-ON FAA REQUIREMENTS

  1. Hold an FAA third class medical certificate
  2. Hold a pilot certificate
  3. Have a minimum of 100 hours of pilot in command in powered aircraft
  4. Obtain 50 hours in helicopters, to include 10 hours of pilot in command

COURSE INCLUDES

  1. 40 hours dual instruction
  2. 10 hours of solo flight
  3. 10 hours professional ground instruction
    Total Cost: $17,500 (*Most flight hours are based on FAA minimum course requirements, averages for course instruction hours are usually higher. Books, exams, headsets and additional training are extra.)

HELICOPTER FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR FAA REQUIREMENTS

  1. Hold an FAA third class medical certificate
  2. Hold a commercial helicopter pilot certificate
  3. Obtain sufficient dual instruction for proficiency
  4. Pass an FAA written exam
  5. Pass an FAA oral and flight test

  1. 25 hours dual instruction
  2. 25 hours professional ground instruction
